Not sure how much you have been following this case, but Trump has absolutely no chance of winning an appeal, his best move it to stall.

It wouldn't be "wrongful" because the State of New York has a judgment against him.
The State would have to return his money to him, but there would be no damages on top of that. If Trump wants to protect his properties, then he needs to post the bond.
