Rumors that they might be heading into AoA. Wolverine and the X-Men was going to do that several years ago. I'm all for it.

They keep showing Apocalypse in the intro. Can't remember if that is a scene from the old show or not, but either way, seems like he will be introduced at some point.

I think we'll see in the finale that Sinister has been working for/ with Apocalypse.

Just started watching this today. Put it on as background at work, and haven't gotten much done this afternoon
quote:

Rogue's voice is a little too high-pitched

For some reason, I hear Bobby Hill and now I can't unhear it.
Goblin Queen made up for Rogue not havin dat arse. When she got up from that chair at the top of the stairs was Sharon Stone-esque in a X-Men cartoon.
I skipped the Mojo part. Already knew where that was headed, and always disliked the Mojo storylines. The console and cartridge were a nice throwback to the Sega Genesis X-Men game, which to this day is still my favorite game of all time even over the X-Men arcade game.
I just finished Ep 5... frickin awesome.

Caught up and good lord... Yeah, the couple of yall that said this is the best adaptation of the comics nailed it. So much going on, it's awesome.

The stories are rushed, and they did take a little more time in the original series to flesh out the arcs. DoFP was only 2 episodes, but AoA was 4 episodes, Phoenix Saga was 5, and Dark Phoenix was 4. I wonder if it was a bit of a hurried attempt by Disney to put out some solid X-Men content true to the source material that also plays on the nostalgia of the target audience. No BS, no DEI, no "appealing to more demographics." Stuff that would draw a number of us back in that were getting fed up with having garbage content that crapped all over the source material.

I was actually surprised we didn’t get a brief Deadpool cameo just to wink at the movie coming up.

Great series though and would be shocked for it to not win an Emmy

When they announced Morph was gender neutral I thought the show would be shite, but it’s the best thing Marvel has pushed out since No Way Home

I saw something about Ep 5 getting nominated for something. I assumed it was an Emmy, but I don't know when those official nominations are made/announced. Scrolled past it without paying much attention.

I guess we can assume that this tv show isn’t canon to the movies then and they didn’t want any type of confusion with the Deadpool movie coming up

I watched the original show growing up but don’t remember a whole lot and don’t really care to rewatch the whole thing.

Is this season a parallel timeline to the original? They don’t seem to remember Cable, mastermold and nimrod, and apocalypse. Are we to assume that since Genosha is a fixed point that every time Cable or the X-men win in the future so it’s recorrected and the past is erased in some ways meaning the previous X-men show isn’t canon?

As Deadpool would say “these timelines are so confusing”

Yeah, this series is not "supposed" to be canon. Multiverse of Madness did have Strange going through an animated world. "What If...?" isn't canon, either, but was used to introduce and develop characters like Captain Carter.

They're clearly laying the groundwork for an animated MCU with more crossover than we got with the original shows. I'd be down for that, but not sure I could keep up with
X-Men
Avengers
F4
Spiderman
Daredevil
Standalone Iron Man, Wolverine, etc shows.
I'd prefer to have one or two shows at this level of quality than see an animated MCU go the way of the other MCU, quantity over quality.

No, Ep 1 picks up after the series finale of the original.

I guess we'll see how they handle it. I mean, if you tried to sit down and explain a lot of these overlapping storylines/timelines, it would be more convoluted than thirty years of plots of All My Children or Days of Our Lives.

Wait until it gets into the Clan leader from the end of the episode or if they do the Messiah Complex arc...

I didn't get that sense. They showed the destruction of the mastermold factory from the old show. Beast immediately knew the name at the end. There was the sort of "introduction" to Cable, but I almost think that was for new viewers that had only watched this season and wouldn't know Cable from anything other than DP2. They wouldn't know that family relationship.

I agree. Just do X-men 97 and Spiderman 98. Those were the OGs that everyone loved. The Avengers is the B team in reality but they struck while the iron was hot movie wise because Sony and Fox were starting to frick up the movie franchise.

100% agree. I bought every X-franchise and Spiderman comic I could get my hands on as a kid. I only got other stuff when it was bigger events or crossover issues.
However, if they're aiming to eventually do Avengers vs X-Men, they'll need the other shows for that set up. If they do Messiah Complex next season or season 3, it would lead directly into AvsX.

Yeah I admit I was worried when this came out too, but it ended up only providing a cringe awkward moment when Rogue referred to Morph as "they" after using singular pronouns for others.

I'm a sucker for all the cameos we got. Iron Man in his 90s modular armor! Cable's story in this was great too. I wasn't a fan of the animation at first, but it really grew on me and gave us some bad arse fight scenes.

The Iron Man series was fun, but it doesn't need a new one. I'd be perfectly fine with those characters showing up in X-Men and Spider-man. X-men was great but Spider-man was the superior series.

I think I watched a bit of X-men but it just kind of drops you into the middle of the story with no explanation and they go fast.

Spider-man was much easier for my small brain to wrap around as a kid.
