Missed an opportunity to be a gentleman

Leaving Walmart (Praireville) having just turned from self checkout. This 20ish white lady approaches. Says she left her wallet at home and just needs some medicine, could I get it for her? Look down and she's got some Nyquil and a box of medicine (couldnt see the label).
I say "No, I don't have anything" and walk out.
She had a tan members only type jacket (looked just like it and I thought it was weird) her hair was pulled up and she was kinda cute. Would not have pegged her for a grifter/addict.
Should I have helped? Anyone have this happen? Walmart would have just given a gift card if she was looking to return for money.
Maybe she was legit and single just waiting for a guy like me :]
Really wish I would have at least asked why she couldn't just go back for the wallet...

I paid for an elderly black woman’s prescription for her at Siegan Walmart. She was in a motorized wheelchair and she took the bus there. I gave her $40, because she also needed bus fare home. She wanted to exchange phone numbers to pay me back. I declined, I don’t want any strangers phone numbers ever. lol, keep your $40 and don’t contact me.

The only thing my dumb brain thought initially was why not equate brand? That's why I thought return for money, but I don't think Walmart gives cash back for no receipt stuff.
