Every 100k+ city has a guy that says his city would be the first to go because it’s a strategic city to a war effort.

Aiken has one.
Leesville has one.
Tricities has one.
Columbus ga has one.
Monroe has one.
Raleigh has one.

Every city has a guy that says it.

The next city down the road from me has a Campell's soup canning facility and a Pepperidge farms bakery. The wind blows from there to my house so I would be duked, nuked, fooked, rebuked, and puked on.

Baton Rouge has the 6th largest oil refinery in America. Garyville (40 miles away) is the 4th. Lake Charles has the 8th largest. Number 1 is in Port Arthur, right on the southwest border between us and Texas. This entire region would be a glowing wasteland 1 minute after DC was hit if the buttons were pushed.

True, taking out NOLA wouldn't effect the military much but it would shut off a huge chunk of the country's logistics and likely cause another 1927 style flood.
