Again serious question. I've seen this story on the news and looked up a few articles during this discussion (currently half assing a work zoom call)
I don't see where this guy was out on bail? Last incident I see is being released from prison after 5 yrs in 2021
Not defending him, he's a piece of shite with decades of hell ahead of him as a cop killer. I just don't see how cash bail affects this. Let me know if I'm missing something

How about you look up the driver or the car.
He was out on “cashless bail”.
He was the one that committed the traffic violation that put all of the events into motion.
Had these amigos been in just about any other community in the US, driver would have been locked up.

Good point. I thought Rebel was speaking in generalities. My apologies. In this particular case the lenient sentences for violent crimes would be the culprit. I apologize for taking your honest questions as “gotchas”. Breath of fresh air for this board.
