Most all top O-linemen are usually drafted in the early 1st rd. Skill position players are hit or miss

That’s shitty logic but I’ll play. There are a ton of 1st rd busts at OL. We drafted Ruiz and Penning in the 1st rd. That position is no less hit or miss than any other position. And it especially rings true for our organization considering were we got Armstead, Evans, Nicks, strief, stinch etc

How many TEs are legitimate difference makers in the nfl and how many of them were first rounders?

If Bowers is a dude and a difference maker, where should he be selected? Where would the Kelce, Andrews, Laporta, Kittle types go if they redrafted their classes? Those guys are anchors of some pretty decent offenses

I actually like Brian Thomas over Odunze. Let’s invest in WR when we have a franchise QB

I like Thomas but don’t think he has the makings of a 1 like Odunze. He’s not going to fall so this discussion is moot

I think if there was a redraft you would see more OL taken in front of TEs. Just look at their contracts. You just named multiple TEs taken in later rounds proving that they’re harder to predict. I do think bowers is a great pick and wouldn’t be upset at all if we took him. But I also thought the same about Pitts. There are busts at every position but I think OL is one of the easier ones to predict. Size, athleticism, experience, character traits is all you need to look at. They’re large bodies who’s job is to get in the way the defense. It’s not rocket science. There are also some great DEs that might fall to us. I’d prefer us build the trenches for the future. Carr can’t throw to a TE/WR if he’s flat on his back. And who knows when we’ll get a real franchise QB, those weapons we invested in could be washed by that point. I’m not anti Bowers I’m just answering your original OP.

Actual facts are so annoying, right?

And another one

You still think TE in the first round isn't more of a risk than OT?
