This is better offroad, hauls better, tows better, looks better. I don't need an iPad on the dash or power windows. Modern vehicles have a lot of stuff but that stuff just isn't worth the money. It's not adding enough to justify the price. Progress is great but it has to add enough to justify the extra price. I think modern vehicles have outkicked their coverage in that regard.

Agreed. I can't see myself buying another new truck again just to get more gadgets.

Rattletrap and underpowered, but it was unreliable.



The truck in the OP isn't the answer, but neither is that old Ford, and I like Fords.

The biggest often unnoticed difference between modern and "analog" vehicles is how much active and passive safety modern vehicles add. Modern vehicles in the same class are far better at avoiding accidents and survivability once you are in one. The choice can literally be a life or death decision. Nostalgia is great and I enjoy it but when it comes to vehicles it is a feels vs facts issue. Nothing wrong with that, we all do it with certain things.
