Casual local restaurant recommendations near the Fort Lauderdale airport

We will be there overnight and we’d like to go out for a good casual meal from a local restaurant. Thanks in advance. TD F&D board never fails!

15th street fisheries was good. Looks like it is 4.8 miles from the airport. We sat outside by the water and enjoyed it.

Fort Lauderdale is not that far from me, but I rarely go. My strategy would be to head towards the water and then use Google to identify a highly rated seafood restaurant on the water. Even average seafood tastes great with great company and a great view...

If you want a hole in wall mexican restaurant experience for a lunch, go to Jalisco. They bring out a free consomme.

Went with 15th Street Fisheries. It was a hit. Food was good, nice boats passing by on the canal, and tarpon feeding right off the dock. Thanks!
