I actually feel sorry for all of the dads that planned a family event to travel and watch a 100% overcast sky get dark and then light again. We were lucky in SC 7 years ago to have totality and a clear sky….looks like today you need to be in Maine to have a shot at seeing anything.

Agreed. 2017 here in SC was so awesome. I vowed that we would travel in 2024 to see the next one, but I just couldn't make it work the week after spring break with taking the kids out of school. Really regret not being able to travel, but would be worse to make the trip and then have cloudy conditions. Hope y'all get lucky, it's a remarkable thing.

Dad here. Went in 2017 and this time too. The clouds broke and we got a great view. It was difficult to do but I got one kid to join me.
