He had 3 - 5 stars committed and that’s to compliment returning experience. Laugh all you want. It sucks we suck now.

We have yet to sniff a top talent at LSU and McMahon is entering year 3.

Not good Bob!

Will that win us a national championship anytime soon?

I don’t think this was happening any time soon even if Wade stayed. He did go 9-9 in the SEC his last year, a significant drop off.

Getting to the tournament consistently is really all LSU fans can ask for based on the last couple of decades. Wade would have done that, but if you were really thinking championship, you’d be calling for his firing in a year or 2.

You really think Will Wade could build a national championship roster more so than CMM? He had a hard time doing so in all the years he was here.

Right. I suppose you thought Mwani was a five star also. Go look up the players we lost from this all time great class you’re referring to. One of them has been successful and ended up being one and done after averaging 8.3 ppg and 4.7 rebounds. It wasn’t a national championship roster.

If only we could have had 3 top 100 recruits Efton Reid, Justice Williams, and Brandon Murray on the same roster with solid returners. We would have had a national championship roster. Oh, wait…

He’s not leaving McNeese. He has his own table at Seafood Palace.

Wade to Bama scares you more than Oats at Bama?

That's dumb

Why? Wade can’t win without cheating…

Fortunately it's "legal" now. So nothing to worry about there. Then again, he did buy all of those 5 star players at McNeese this season. A program that was averaging about 12 wins a year for over a decade before winning 30 this season.

"Disaster" is probably a bit hyperbolic. But he would absolutely bring juice and excitement to either program and very, very likely would get them to the NCAA Tournament immediately...all while the LSU basketball program has comfortably returned to its home of apathy and irrelevance.

"Postseason" excitement!!....

Going on 3 years now losers in life. Get some therapy. Buy more Midol. Do something instead of being the bitching asswipes you've become.

I think it would be funny. If Wade goes to the gumps watch Dickie V be in front of the line to well you know.

Given LSU isn't some MBB powerhouse I doubt KY or Bama factor that in their deliberations

They had no 5 stars. The 5 stars he bought at LSU rarely played like it. Who knows whether they were overrated or underdeveloped.

I don't know. I'd say guys like Reid, Smart, Thomas, played pretty well.

I think there are many on here that overrate Wade's accomplishments. However, out of nothing more than the desire to take a contrarian position, there are FAR more who underrate his accomplishments. If you have always been more of a casual LSU basketball fan I guess I could see how you wouldn't think what Wade accomplished at LSU was all that noteworthy. But if you have been a invested fan of the program for a long time you know what Wade did in his short time at LSU was very noteworthy because by and large none of his predecessors since 1993 did it.

From 1994 - 2017 LSU basketball was a inconsistent afterthought. A program that was just as apt, if not more apt, to finish last in the SEC than reach the NCAA Tournament. Occasionally they would pop a random good year. 2000, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2015. But those were outliers. Starting in his second season (which was the best regular season in nearly 40 years), Wade had LSU annually in the NCAA Tournament and there was no reason to suggest that trend was going to stop until he was fired at the end of the 2022. That had not been the case since the late 80's/early 90's.

Now the program has quickly returned to the same level of apathy that existed at the end of the Johnson and Jones eras. If you don't think that is the case, then I guess it would be futile to try to convince you the sun rose in the east this morning.

Was Wade the best coach in the nation? No
Was he on the precipice of a National Championship? No.
Was LSU basketball a hell of a lot more interesting and fun during his time here than it had been since Shaq controlled the paint? Absolutely!

You are a dumb motherfricker. There are three top players comingy in out of high school next year plus whatever can be gotten from the portal. Your beloved Wade caused this issue. Nobody was coming to play here while sanctions (thank you Wade) were hanging over the program. That just went away and this is the first time the field has been level. Please cheer for whoever is stupid enough to hire a liar and a cheater. You’re “support” isn’t needed here.

Just remember, year 2 was a sweet sixteen appearance. Currently we are middle of the pack SEC and play shitty basketball.

You do know that McMahon signed a top 20 (HS) class in his first offseason at LSU, right?
