See, this is why so many are easily triggered on this. They think emotionally. Players will not be allowed to transfer during a game or after turning pro. The courts will not allow it because that is not rational. Changing the system from a 1 year sit out penalty to no sit out period is rational. Why should a player be arbitrarily punished because the old guard forced the NCAA to implement a 1 year sit out rule decades ago to protect themselves?

The crux of all this is that the NCAA never did its job properly. The NCAA allowed the big media figure heads like Bear Bryant, Bo, Joe, and others to call the shots instead of the other way around. There never should have been a one year sit out penalty. The NCAA should have told those coaches no. But instead , the NCAA caved and it worked for decades with very few transfers.. How many players had their college careers ruined by coaches? Fast forward to today and this is how it should have been all along - you lie to a player to get him to sign and you’ll have consequences. A player simply changes his mind to be closer to family or because someone offered him a million - so what.

So many here just can’t handle the simple fact that the power has now shifted from old scumbag coaches you’ve put on a pedestal your entire life to now whiny entitled players. I can’t stand either group which is why I root for my teams jerseys and could care less about any individual coach or player. And I darn sure don’t care about a player once he is no longer wearing my teams jersey whether it’s another college team or a pro team. They use my school and I use them for entertainment. Then we both move on.

what I don't udnerstand (and I'm truly ignorant, I'm not trying to be funny) is why the hell courts are so involved with all this shite anyway. It's college athletics...why can't a governing body just create and enfornce its own guidelines?

I don' thtink creating rules = punishment. Players should have to sit afte transferring because it upholds the integrity of the sport. A federal court has no businsess saying "nah you can't do that".

what does this even mean? What power? Coaches are coaches...players are amateur student athletes. The 2 shoudl be lookd at differently with very different roles and responsibilities.
