I agree with you here. It is a great album but it was not innovative as far as I can tell though I am no music expert.
In my opinion, based on what I like, the Ramones are not very good and the album was not really good musically to me. But it was different and sparked or at least heralded the growth of a genre of music. Kind of the counter to Rumors for me, I don't like it but it belongs on this sort of list.
