The NFL doesn't want to turn into the Oregon Ducks, who do not wear the same uniform twice anytime during a 4 season stretch. The league uses the uniform kit as a marketing tool so they want to avoid such buffoonery.

The nfl would dress the players in clown suits if it made them more money.
