Exactly. The job market and housing market were adversely affected.

I have long thought this. Not only did the supply of workers go up, but, with both adults working, there was more disposable money in circulation. How long do you think it took for companies to figure that out and start charging more for stuff?

In the 70s, women and minorities flooded the job market, immigration picked up, and manufacturing with overseas.

Thats a genie that will never return to the bottle. I think its great the job market expanded, but it also lowered wages and raised the cost of living.
