Pretty clear that the PGA tour is playing hardball with negotiations as far as what happens to LIV and LIV players. They basically want LIV to dissolve or be a side show and LIV players to be punished on their return. The Saudis want LIV to survive and be integrated as a major part of the new merged tour and the LIV players aren’t punished at all.

The PGA tried to get a leg up by courting outside investors. LIV poached Rahm with $400 million dollars. PGA officially got a huge investment from SSG to steal back the leverage. Now LIV/Saudis are trying to regain the upper hand by poaching Rory.

Rahm and Rory have been preaching reunification as well. LIV clearly sold Rahm, and likely is selling Rory, that not only will they get more money than some small countries, but it’s actually good for golf bc reunification will have to happen if they leave.

I'm sort of with you until here. Rahm talked about unification this week but at the same time did the most de-unifying thing by leaving in the manner he did. He's talking out of both sides of his mouth.

I doubt the PIF gives two shits if LIV survives or not if they get their hands on American golf. Its a shitty product that is losing a ton of money and that no major network has any interest in investing in.

I don’t know if SSG can outspend the Saudis.

If for no other reason than the Saudis don’t care about turning a profit at least in the short term.
