I second the advice on buying the train tickets individually vs the rail pass. I came across many reviews where people said they had issue after issue when trying to use their pass at stations all over Europe. Often having to buy tickets on the spot, which of course cost the most and would cause delays.

I just returned from a 32 day trip to 5 European countries and I booked 6 long haul trips (> 2hrs) about 6 weeks ahead of time. I booked 2 round trip day visits (~ 30 min) 1-2 days before the day of train.

Trainline is a good website for tickets.
