Johnson is openly FOR what he is voting for. He's not powerless. He's not trapped. He's not forced. He is voting and doing what he wants. There is no evidence to the contrary.
The idea that this is just some unfortunate situation and if we had more republicans is just not true. There is nothing to suggest that is true.
Johnson is doing just what he wants to do. The "powerless" schtick is just a psy-op.
I don't really believe this as up until he was speaker he was very much against these things.
Instead I think the job is too big for him and he is going along to get along in an attempt to get through the elections where he hopes to get a real majority versus the razor thin margin he currently has.

Here, let me play press secretary. If what you say is true, this is what he should say:
"To all of the conservatives out there, and especially the people from my home district in Louisiana, where I have repeatedly stated that I am against the things we are voting for today, let me say that I am begrudgingly taking this path. It's not the path I want, but it's the path the majority of the party wants to take. As speaker, it's my job to do what is best for the party, even if that means doing things that I disagree with."
Instead, he is openly promoting these bills as things he agrees with and WANTS. That's a lot different than just "going along"
