Not a chance in hell the Rangers beat the Astros and then win the World Series if Bruce Bochy isn't their manager. That guy can coach.

the situation the Stros are facing is somewhat similar to Florida football (obviously way different sports so it’s not an exact match but there are parallels).

It was clear that it was time for Dusty, like Dan Mullen, to move on. They both did relatively well (with dusty actually winning some hardware) but both seemed to have underachieved a bit and seemed to have hit their ceiling and were on the downswing.

They were both replaced with someone so incompetent; that some fans will want them back even though it was the right move to move on.

The mistake was hiring bargain bin replacements who are in way over their head.

And just like how there are Disney Gators making every excuse in the book for Sun Belt Billy, including blaming Dan Mullen for every single failure of Napier, blaming NIL for poor recruiting, blaming difficult schedule's; same is being seen from Disney Stros for Espada: blaming Dusty, blaming the GM, blaming injuries etc.

Espada still might have some time to dig out of the hole, but if not, he’s shaping up to be the MLB version of Bargain Bin Billy, that is, a total disaster.

The manager's ability to keep a clubhouse together for 162 is far, far more important than his ability tactically.

I've always said the best manager probably has a 5 game potential difference in outcomes, which translates to 10 in the standings (turning 5 losses into 5 wins)

As it relates to this particular situation with the Astros, Dusty told anyone that would listen that we would thank him later.

Baseball is like life. The more you think you have it under control, it shows you that you're not.

from what I’ve read from some Astros fans, dusty underachieved last season which was why they were calling for his head

no but they care about Astros baseball and they’re going thru similar problems now

Edit: and nobody cares about USL football, not even in Lafayette.

The Astros never underachieved under Dusty. They won in spite of him. Him picking favorites instead of playing the best possible players and blatantly going against and butting heads with multiple GM’s is what drove everyone crazy. Not to mention he was an a-hole.

I refuse to believe this season would look that much different thus far if he was still our manager instead of Espada. Unless of course Dusty being in the dugout somehow made our “lockdown” overpaid relievers perform like they’re supposed to

We have the same hitting problems (with runners on base) and same hitting coach we had under Dusty

There have only been a few times Espada has made head scratching decisions and most of them involve some form of Jose Abreu and Jon Singleton…both horrific 1B that Espada has to play. If we had even a below average 1B then that problem would be solved

Yes it’s possible he’s bad at managing the locker room and the players don’t like playing for him but there haven’t really been any signs of that. Hard to really judge that when there hasn’t even been a full month of the season played

Also, go ask the fan base of every other franchise Dusty managed and see what they think about him

You’ll quickly learn it’s not some minority of Astros fans being unreasonable

Brown spent all the money on Hader

That was a Jim Crane move all the way. Brown seems like nothing but a glorified farm director sent out to rebuild the farm and handle the media hits.

Crane is running this thing with help from his Three Stooges committee of Bagwell, Reggie Jackson and Biggio. This is Crane’s fault.
