Iran is a massive country with considerable military resources. And Israel doesn’t really have any options for both penetrating that deeply into Iran, attacking and destroying something that fortified, and getting their people out. Not in the extremely short time they would have

Im not sure any military on Earth does. That’s not an endorsement of Iran’s capability, just the logistical reality of carrying out something like that.

Interesting. I was envisioning some kind of small special forces like team or teams with air cover. To be clear, I don't know the geography or their capability at all, just wondering if they couldn't even do that. In the original post I wasn't quite clear if they didn't really have ground forces or if they were so limited they aren't really an option.

Iran struggled with Iraq for ten years and gained nothing. There is nothing at all considerable about Iran.
