I read where we gave it to Israel but had them limit the capacity of it, much to their disagreement.
Apparently we were aware that the Iranian govt was so centralized that if we allowed "the full monty" it would shut down most things centrally controlled by the govt....water, power, dams, traffic, everything, and cause panic in the entire country.

This. This was around 2005. Someone’s phone was hacked and allowed for the Bluetooth function to insert a virus at Natanz. The virus caused the enrichment equipment to spin too fast and rip itself apart.
This was almost 20 years ago. Imagine what else Mossad and the CIA can create now.
