VW has 122 plants in 32 countries including China, Mexico and Ghana. 121 of those plants have a collective bargaining agreement with VW because that is VW's preferred business model. The outlier is their Tennessee assembly plant where local politicians have adamantly opposed a collective bargaining agreement despite VW and VW employees expressing their desire to have said agreement.

European unions are not the UAW and it’s not the American labor model. The UAW is STILL under probation from the federal government for stealing members’ money. Why would anyone want to trust them with their paycheck?

This. A German union is more akin to a craft guild, with high standards for work quality, educational requirements (starts in their equivalent of middle school), etc. Nothing at all like the lazy, combative perpetual victimhood UAW.
