You got that right!
That little uppity count was going 37 in 30 zone! The officer should receive a commendation award for efficiently removing that deadly menace from the streets.
The sassy bitch actually got off easy. She is lucky he didn’t put a cap in her arse!

It's about this cop. I haven't read much in this thread about "all cops".

He opened her door in less than 20 seconds... WTF? I've never had a cop open my door.
Normally, they ask you to step out of the vehicle almost immediately, and he did not do that in this instance ... perhaps because it was raining. An open door let him keep an eye on the driver, ALMOST as well as making her stand in the rain. I see nothing remotely "odd" about wanting an open door.

Yes, he opens the door at around 15-16 second mark. Wipers are off at the 19 second mark. He steps back, waits politely for another 15 seconds.
Takes a step forward and waits (again) for another 15 seconds.
We've NO idea what is being said.
At the 49 second mark, he leans forward, hands on his knees, clearly conversing with the driver.
Another 15 seconds or so pass.
More talking....
Not until the 1:20 mark does he reach in & start to pull her out.
Does that seem rather quick? Yes. IMO, it sure does. But again, I've no idea what led up to her being pulled over, what was said, if she was complying, was scared and didn't know what to do... 18 yr old, understandable.
Is the cop overly animated? Posturing in an aggressive manner? Angry? Hard to tell from the video.
But the one thing I know for certain is that 1st impressions are almost always incomplete and false.
Time will tell.

They don't ask you almost immediately to step out. That's not standard percedure on a routine traffic stop. Sorry.

Yeah. He was fired.

How about your house? They knock on your door and and tell you they are coming inside to question you and search your house?
These are the same type of guys that parrot "I lost my guns in a boating accident" yet will help them carry their arsenal to the car when the cops come for them.

Fired for following procedure, ignoring procedure, or for making the police LOOK bad on social media?

Nah, Dex posts a thread every few weeks highlighting the latest examples of police brutality as part of the ACAB narrative. Meanwhile, this particular officer is out of a job and the city will likely be paying out a minimal settlement.

Thanks for admitting you didn't read the article.
He pulled her over for doing 37 in a 30.
A minute and a half later she is face down on the concrete.
Seems reasonable

Ok, but as a person pulled over by the police, you have to obey the officer’s commands. It’s this arguing and resisting that increases the risk of a bad experience with law enforcement. If the officer oversteps his or her authority, that can be sorted out in court. A traffic stop is no place to play constitutional law scholar.

I don't know him or care. Just looking at this one incident and it's fricked up. My post history shows I'm not a cop basher but I hate bad cops. Not complicated to me.

True.
The biggest ignored political story the last fifty years is the Right taking the knee when told to by the Left over a virus less lethal than the flu for all but the very old/frail and already very unwell. Same guys.

Show how much you really love the police and pick up the tab for that "minimal settlement". Meanwhile, I'll continue to highlight the police state we have turned into. I guess the article I shared about the cops barging into the wrong home and dragging a naked woman out of her bathtub wasn't off-putting to you either.

Was following this- that cop was mental and showed serious episodes of anger issues. He is a poor public servant.
Posted on 4/20/24 at 9:34 pm to Riverside
He was fired. She was released. So who's right again? Are people saying he should not have been fired?

How does Dex feel about these cops in this recent OT thread? Would love to hear your opinion.

I have never set foot out of the car for a traffic stop.
Not once.
Never even had the door open.

I’m not sure either of them are in the right, truthfully. If she had complied though, none of this happens. I also think the officer overreacted and should have been let go. That should be the end of this story, but of course the media and democrats hate law enforcement so they’ll run this story to push a wider narrative of ACAB.
