These people need to live in Southeast Louisiana.

The killer is the humidity. If you can get the humidity or the dew point to comfortable levels then 78 may feel bearable.

The new thing on some AC units is DRY mode. The air conditioning slows the fan to allow more humidity to collect on the coil.


I have a newer window unit with that mode and I am freezing this morning with it.

Everyone would benefit greatly from adding a good dehumidifier and a couple of fans (floor, not ceiling) to their homes during the Summer. It helps tremendously.
