I know Auburn sucks and we should sweep them but if we do does it mean that we can hope to play games past the SEC tournament? I feel like if we do then take at least one each from A&M, Bama and Ole Miss then we should expect a regional invite.

You would likely be very disappointed with that expectation...

False. They have to sweep to stay alive. I wouldn't say that means they are back in it but it's a start.

Here’s the thing, do you really want to see us get our shite pushed in at some random regional? This team needs to be put down as quietly as possible. Let it go.

If we sweep this weekend we are still 8-13 in the SEC. If that means that we are back in it then Good Lord Help Us All!!

True. Still with a lot of work to do but a sweep would give us a bit of breathing room and momentum going into A&M

But this is false we can't lose the last three series and make it

False...

We MUST sweep this weekend, steal one from A&M and then win the last 2 series at least to be "back in it"...

Have you seen LSU play?

I wouldn’t say any game is a guarantee, hell they even lost to Southern.

The thing with the Auburn series is, even though they are bad they are going to be fighting for wins just as hard or even harder than we are. Just because they suck doesn’t make it a gimmie

We have 12 conference games left. We need to win at least 8 of those games, probably 9.

It really doesn’t matter who we get those 9 wins against…but we need 9. Eight wins might do it, but 9 wins will definitely do it.

Theoretically, we could get swept vs Auburn and still get to 14-16 by winning out. It goes without saying we would all like to get a couple of those 9 needed wins vs Auburn…. Sweep clearly preferred, but even if we just win 2/3 we will need 7 in the final 9, which isn’t impossible.

Let's look at possibilities.

To get to Hoover we need to end ahead of two teams. The most likely two are Auburn and Mizzou. That is our first hurdle IMO. Also the most achievable.

So Sweep Auburn and we are 8-13 with 9 games left and 6 games ahead of Auburn. Our remaining schedule is Texas A&M, @Alabama, Ole Miss. Win 3 of those 9 and we finish ahead of Auburn even if they win out because we have the tiebreaker. More realistic is we win 4 or 5 of those meaning 12 or 13 SEC wins. That is likely to get us to Hoover. Mizzou is currently 6-12 and play 12-6 Tennessee, 10-8 Moo State, and 9-9 South Carolina (and Auburn). They could easily get swept in two or 3 series. LSU simply has to win one more game than Mizzou to have that tiebreaker

Edit: I hit submit and had to edit to finish up my thoughts.
