The downvoters won't respond (other than their downvotes) because they either know you're right and don't like it or they don't know enough to know why they don't agree with you other than OMB.

For the latter group:

The case is that Trump illegally used campaign funds to pay off Stormy Daniels so she wouldn't talk about an alleged affair they had.

Important points:

1. Stormy Daniels has stated both she did and did not have an affair with Trump.
2. Michael Cohen (the Trump lawyer who paid Stormy) has testified in court that he paid Stormy without Trump's knowledge.
3. Michael Cohen has testified in court that he paid Stormy from his own account.
4. Michael Cohen has testified that he reimbursed himself from the campaign.

These next points go toward showing how this trial is a sterling example of the vast discrepancy in how Trump is being handled versus how similar cases have been handled in the past.

5. Hillary Clinton was found guilty of a very similar crime (paying for the Steele dossier with campaign funds), was fined and that was it.
6. For many years Congress had a secret slush fund from which to pay accusers to STFU about sexual encounters/assaults with members of Congress. No one in Congress who used this fund was ever charged with any sort of crime related to such a flagrant misuse of tax dollars.
7. Joe Biden was accused by Tara Reade of sexual assault (literally grabbing her "by the pussy"). She filed a report with Capitol Police at the time, nothing ever came of it.

Joe Biden's performance as President has been pathetic. Jimmy Carter did a better job, and that's saying something. As such, Trump is the front-runner in almost every poll.

Instead of campaigning on Joe's accomplishments (which are starkly lacking), the Democrats are trying to give Joe a win in November by attempting to litigate Trump out of the race (it doesn't matter if he wins or loses in court, they are shooting in the dark in the hopes something sticks but will still use the fact that the cases went to court as their primary election rhetorical tool).

In that aspect, this is also what's going on with the MAL valuation fiasco (although, in certain ways, that one is even more egregious).
