It's a generational attitude in which no one thinks they should have to earn playing time. It's just start me or I'm leaving. The hell with putting the work in to elevate your positioning on the depth chart. It's going on everywhere in society. Like if I have to come in the office one day a week, I'm quitting and finding a new job. Same thing.

I'm all in favor of some dinosaurs - players who RS, get stronger, shed some fat, stay with program so they can get on the field as a Jr/Sr. But nowadays, they have no stay-n-play guarantee.

If the HC can get someone with experience out of the portal, then players like Cryer are out of luck.

If someone like him wants to play at LSU they might have a better chance by gaining experience elsewhere and vectoring in via the portal later.
