Overrated: Lyoto Machida. His karate style was cool at the time but he always lost the big fights and would immediately get another big fight or title shot

Underrated: Carlos Condit. Dude was a killer in his prime and beat Nick Diaz when Diaz was supposed to be the man to come in and beat GSP. He also beat Lawler for the belt IMO but judges didn’t see it that way

For a long time I said BJ penn is the most overrated fighter of all time. I was challenged in another fight thread to really look at his body of work and I have since changed my stance

Whoever says the iceman can GTFO. Most don’t realize he was like 37 when he knocked out Tito for the ufc belt so he was past his prime and still dropping elite fighters. Go back and look at his pride and early ufc days, guy was a beast. He’s who got me into ufc

I think that says more about Tito than it does the ice man...

Overrated: Ronda Rousey

Underrated: Charles Oliveira. I know he's lost two of his last three but he was on an incredible streak there for a while in a stacked division (beat Ferguson, Chandler, Poirier, and Gaethje). Most finishes in UFC history and the only person to fight in 4 title fights and never be the favorite. Never was the fan favorite either. Didn't get the respect from Vegas or the fans, kind of the definition of underrated.
