re: Family of man killed when police fired 96 times during traffic stop file wrongful death

There was a case years ago I think in Alabama. Perp shot and killed a cop. A group of cops hunted for him in a forest. They saw him behind a fallen tree and yelled: 'Come out with your hands up!' Two seconds later they opened fire. He was hit 40 times and died.
A reporter later asked the chief: 'Why did you shoot him 40 times?'
Chief: 'We ran out of bullets.'
