I would have had Tony do it 12 years ago when I did it but he was living 2 time zones away . We both have a cousin who had been battling drug addiction for 30+ years since she was a teen. It truly destroyed her and her parents life. So much so that her brother who is also a lawyer had to put all of his parents assets in trust just to protect the parents from continually footing the bill for the numerous stints in rehab and hospital bills she was guilting them into.

She was/ is so strung out that he bought her a trailer and 2 acres in Mississippi and told her that it was all hers and that was it. Both the trailer and the land ended up belonging to someone else in 18 months. You name the drug and she's abused it....although she won't stick a needle into her arm. But she has been busted several times with pills and smack and meth. All mostly possession amounts. She has a rap sheet that is surprisingly small though for an addict. Maybe 20 arrests, which if you have ever dealt with lifelong addicts who live below the poverty line is not all that much.

I was a hard core drug addict from 2006 until the end of 2018 with 4 years of sobriety sprinkled in here and there. Mainly crack then meth, then shooting meth.

I say that to say, I've done opiates and benzos. I've even shot heroin before. Never was seriously my drug. I'd do it once in a blue moon but only if I couldn't get Mt drug of choice. I was never hooked on it.

I've done everything except heroin, but back when OC 80s were still a thing I developed a nasty pill habit. Spent 5 years on suboxone and then went cold turkey to some of the nastiest withdrawals I've ever experienced. Never going back.

Tried meth before and crack once when we couldn't get powder. Funny enough my pill dealer was a crack head so that one was a layup, but I never really enjoyed speeding. Enjoyed it while everyone was around but being alone lying in bed at 3 in the morning with your heart beating in your ears was close to torture for me.

I did crystal meth on 3 or 4 different occasions about 20 years ago and decided that it was so good that I didn't want to do it anymore. That shite really is awesome!

I feel for you, I really do.

Did coke occasionally in the early to mid 1980s (who didn't) and smoked opium from time to time during the same era. Also did acid pretty regularly. Gave it all up the first time I had a job where drug testing was required. Outside of oxygen I do not think there is a substance that is automatically addictive. Its all on the individual. Part of the problem with crack was the BS about it being instantly addictive....I personally know several people who tried it to see....it wasn't, of course....many of those people, realizing they had lied about it being instantly addictive went on to become regular users and addicts because they did not want to believe anything about it.

Did not like coke but acid and opium were both FANTASTIC. I wouldn't smoke opium today because its waaaaayyyyyyyy to pleasant but I would do some high quality acid, if it existed, and were not subject to drug testing. As soon as I retire I am taking up pot again....its been nearly 41 years LOL

I had a bad back injury. I was on max dosage for about 4 months of Oxycodone. After surgery I was on it for about a week u til I stopped taking it.
My doc thought I was going to have a problem coming off but I didn’t have any cravings or withdrawals.

It gets that bad as the years go on.
