The Hawks drafted Marvin Williams No.2 overall. They drafted Shelden Williams at no. 5.
The Thrashers drafted Alex Bourret, who never played an NHL game. Boris Valabik went at no.8, and only played 50 games.
The Falcons are run by idiots, but this isn't the worst pick in ATL sports history. Not even close.

They're not even the worst run in Atlanta history (see most of the Hawks' existence and the sabotage of the Thrashers by ASG).
