"Atlanta" is a sports town. Something New Orleans crave to be like one day. Considering that New Orleans economy focuses only on their stupid shitty Bourbon street tourism - it will never be the city it begs to be

The Braves did a tremendous job with The Battery. I am shocked how well a suburban complex has worked for them and I can agree with you that Atlanta is indeed a sports town. That said, no one should ever compare the cities of Atlanta and New Orleans other than in perhaps demographics. One is a major city and the other will forever be a medium sized city with a town like feel.

Geography prevents New Orleans from the drastic turnover/change in the entrenched population that white flight suburbs/planned communities brought to Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas over the last few decades. For better or worse, it will never be the city Atlanta has become.

None of this has anything to do with the fact that New Orleans is just as big of a sports town as Atlanta or any of those other cities mentioned. I would argue bigger than all three when it comes to the NFL as it doesn't have MLB splitting interest/dollars.
