I don't think they're going full send on the Loperfido era given his contact issues at AAA. Think they're going to ease him in and see if he's totally overmatched. Since he's left handed, he likely moves into Singletons role and starts in a platoon with Abreu. Singleton is out of options so he'll have to be DFA'd and clear waivers to be assigned to Sugarland.
Sucks for Singleton as he's been better than Abreu but he's the easy cut.

If he's platooning, then he's the one who gets most of the starts. That's what should happen. Otherwise, they're doing him a disservice in his development.
