Light attendance at Church the last several Sundays

The Church I attend every Sunday morning is usually packed at all 3 Sunday sessions
8am
9:30am
11am
It’s not a huge mega Church. I think the sanctuary has a capacity of around 300-400
The past several weeks - basically since the start of baseball and softball seasons, I have noticed that the attendance has been very low
Trying to figure out what was going on, I realized the problem.
Baseball and Softball games and practices for kids are now being scheduled and played on Sundays
When I was growing up, scheduling games and practices on Sundays was a big no-no.
I started thinking about it… if it is like this all around the country, that’s a big problem and a terrible way to push kids further and further away from Church.
I think it’s kind of messed up that leagues and coaches are scheduling games and practices on Sundays (which is preventing the young generation from experiencing a family Sunday at Church together.)
Am I right or wrong here?

Tournament baseball certainly contributes in places it is popular (Louisiana). I passed a local baseball/softball complex at 9am this morning and it was packed.

And do we have to be in a pew to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

Kids are young only once. No JuCo scollys at the church either.

I think Sunday practice option for my son's 6 year old baseball team, and the coach was like nope. I'm thankful for that and I don't even go to church.

Good on you for going to church on Sunday, but you have to be a realist and understand that lots of people don’t share your values.

We don't even schedule anything at night around here on Wednesday night because of church.

Absolutely right.
Worshipping money and balls isn’t good.

People will always prioritize what's important to them.
People stopped going to church before they started going to baseball.

Used to be the same here. No homework on Wednesdays and no games on Wednesday and practice ended early.

They don’t share my values?
So the people who were attending church every Sunday before baseball and softball seasons - suddenly all stop showing up on Sundays because Braxton has to be at the field at 8am in two counties over to play their game - they all of a sudden don’t share the same values??

My church is completely full every mass except 7 am which is half full of old people

Yes. They don’t share your values. How is that hard to understand. They value having their kids participating in sports (or whatever) over going to church on Sunday.

Living alone is tough but stop posting every fricking thing that comes to your small mind.

See that’s where I don’t understand people like you.
Why not just not schedule mandatory events on Sundays - or at least Sunday mornings and we wouldn’t be having this conversation?
Sunday kids sports has now turned into Saturday kids sports days. I just think that’s a little too much in my opinion

You are not right or wrong.
People just going to keep on living their lives how they want to.

It seems like a lot less people are going to church..I used to be able to go to Costco at 10AM on Sunday and get in and out.. Now there is a line when it opens.
It's a travesty

Signing your kid up for baseball isn't mandatory, and neither is going to church.
And also, why do you care who is at church. You should just care that you and God show up.
