Like the UDFA thread, I'm posting this because I didn't see anything mentioned on the board. First page is all baseball; which I understand, but come on- it's LSU football in the news.

Prisco grades each team's overall draft, and lists their best pick. 3 LSU players named:
quote:

Jacksonville Jaguars: B
Best Pick: I love second-round defensive tackle Maason Smith from LSU. His skill set is impressive. A torn ACL in 2022 set him back, but he started to look like himself late last season. He can be dominant.

quote:

New York Giants: B-
Best Pick: It was their first one, receiver Malik Nabers. Some will say they should have taken quarterback J.J. McCarthy in that spot, but I like taking the best receiver in the draft. Nabers will be special.
quote:

Washington Commanders: A+
Best Pick: It was their first one, quarterback Jayden Daniels. I think he will be the best quarterback from this draft. They locked up a franchise passer with pick No. 2. He will be dynamic.

With Jacksonville, he also praised Brian Thomas:
quote:

The Skinny: I have been critical of Trent Baalke's drafts in the past, but this was a good one. First-round receiver Brian Thomas Jr. gives them a game-changer on offense that they've lacked, while Smith can be a beast up front. Trading down and adding picks in this draft and next year's draft was a smart move by Baalke.

And of course, this will trigger some folks on the SEC Rant, talking about the Raiders:
quote:

Worst Pick: I think tight end Brock Bowers is a good player, but why take him when you took Michael Mayer last year and he flashed big time late last season? They had other needs. This was a luxury pick.

i must have missed that part of the season. Our defense we shite, no bright spot and definitely nothing dominant.

He was really starting to play a lot better the last few games.

People don’t realize that it takes a full season to get back from that type of injury. Especially for a big guy.

I think he was a reach in round 2, but let’s not act like he never showed flashes of what he is capable of.

Did you even watch the Wisconsin game, bro? They got two sacks back-to back to end it, bringing our total number of sacks in the season up to two.

If that's not coming on late, I don't know what is.

The defense as a whole was awful all year, one player can’t fix that. But Smith was definitely improving and showing out more late in the season.

This makes Prisco look foolish. Ok I get his points on the needs vs wants thing, but Brock Bowers in no way should ever be considered in any category as a worst pick. He must be trying to get major click bait reacts from the Georgia fanbase over that comment.

Plus having two good TEs can work. See the Pats with Gronk and Hernandez.

Unless Tom Brady is coming out of retirement to throw to these TEs, I don’t see it working.

Cleveland tried to that a few years ago with 3 TEs and it did not work. Bowers went to the one team that made no sense for him. Adams will see bulk of the targets from whom ever is the QB.
