I've always been fascinated with the misses for some reason. How did we let a kid from Opelousas go to Michigan St?

IDK but it's crazy he's an NFL draft pick and he wouldn't of even been able to start for us this year.

We signed Nabers, Bech, BTJ, Deion Smith, and Hilton. 4/5 were Louisiana guys in a strong receiver class in state. All of those guys were really good coming out of high school. Just a numbers casualty.

He was apart of that "Covid class" that didnt get to camp. We also took 5 WRs in that class.

Hilton, BTJ, Deion Smith, Nabers, and Bech. I think Bech got the offer because of Walker Howard.

We signed 5 WRs that year

Hilton
Deon Smith
BTJ
Nabers
Bech

All were rated higher than Coleman. He probably gets in any other year, but that years WR class was insane.

Pretty sure we offered but it was more about shooty hoops. Obviously playing for Izzo was a big deal.

Kid never wanted to come here including in the transfer portal. He detailed this on social media.

I know him personally. He didn’t wanna stay in Louisiana. He was ready to leave Opelousas as fast as he could and no one felt he was wrong for thinking that. It was that simple

On 247 6 of the top 15 (and 7 out of the top 18) state players that year were WRs. Coleman was the the 5th ranked WR in the state and 13th overall. It happens.

Or Keon's cousin, Ceedee Lamb, who stated, "I always wanted to play for LSU" but was never offered a scholarship by CEO.

Lamb also famously played PeeWee ball with Grant Delpit.

there is always going to be a stud WR or RB that’s slips through the recruiting staff because Louisiana produces a lot yearly. Deion Smith was a top 150 recruit and the top player in Mississippi. Nabers & Thomas obviously speak for themselves both first round picks. Hilton was a top 150 recruit and could possibly be WR #1 this year. Which leaves Bech has the WR they shouldn’t have taken over Coleman.

LSU took 4 wr in that class. Hilton, TBJ, Malik and Bech. Coleman was ranked below all of them. He was the 6th highest rated WR in LA and we took 4. We didn't need a 5th.

Two WR in that class got drafted higher. We didn’t miss him as much. If he was a DB, I would be upset
