re: 2025 is going to be an interesting year for WRs.

I wasn’t saying it’s impossible but it’s much much more difficult. What I’m saying is you see more DBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs who make it from a lower ranking to become a winning player in college.

Pro is a different animal altogether. I’m mainly talking about college ball. The pros have a huge advantage to see these players mature and play on a much higher level than the college coaches get to see. These players aren’t even close to a mature body, mind or skill when coming from HS for many reasons. College to pro is slightly different. You don’t see many colleges taking a risk on a 3* QB over a 5*. Plus there are only so many spots at the QB position. The skill position players do it all the time.

Now of course we still prefer the higher ranked guys over the lower ranked guys, that’s not my argument. But you do see them perform and advance a team at those positions. Not so much at QB, OL, DL and LB. That’s what I’m saying. There is usually a huge drop off and you notice it much more at those positions. You can get by at the others if you have good players. They don’t have to be world beaters.

The drop off just isn’t as noticeable for RB, TE, WR and DB. Again you still want to get the best players possible but if you miss on the 5* DB, you can go get the 3* guy develop them fairly quickly and play good defense with them. That’s much harder to do on the DL or at LB, it’s very noticeable. It’s the same with WR and QB or OL and RB or TE. You miss on the 5* WR, you can still get a 3* guy who advances your offense. Good luck doing that with the QBs and OLman. Not as easy. Possible but not recommended.
