Well if you would have read Revelations then you'd know...

they've always had gay preachers whether you knew they were or not.

Because the Methodist church let the lgbt take over a few years ago. The African congregation tried to save them but USA and other put in very liberal leadership

Ask me how I know you haven’t read Revelation or didn’t pay much attention?

I’d rather worship at home or in a school cafeteria than show up every Sunday at a church im only attending because they couldn’t afford to walk away.
I have no issue with gay people. I love them and their situation is between them and God.
But until Jesus comes down and clarifies the Bible no one living openly in defiance of the New Testament should be on the pulpit.

If we say we don't have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Because this world has been morally flipped upside down thru decades of indoctrination and destroying the family nucleus. It’s that simple but with many more layers.
They desensitized our lives so much that we just shake our heads and never put up a stand for what should be challenged.
It’s a dark alley and hands tied behind our backs at this point.

Funny that God/Jesus supposedly could come "down" at any time and clarify everything for what is a very confused world when it comes to religious belief - but chooses not to.
Most people believe what they do simply for cultural reasons.

UMC isn't Protestant.
I read their "catechism" or "confession of faith" yesterday and I can testify under oath that it is word for word Protestantism in its purest form. Every plank in the Protestant platform is there.
That's why I'm completely puzzled over how exactly they found Bible passages to support this New Reformation of theological "truth" when it comes to this Gay Sex issue.
Is all Gay Sex OK? Or must the couple be married? Does this mean that Hetero Sex outside of marriage is OK? Is the UMC placing Gay Marriage on the same level as traditional marriage?
Lots of interesting questions to be answered. Let's stay tuned. It would not hurt if people kept posing these questions to the UMC in order to make them stand up for this new theology.

Southern Baptists and Roman Catholics hate each other but are the last vestiges of true Christianity. They may not agree on how to be a Christian, but they sure as shite agree on what makes you a sinner.

What did Christ say about gays?
You are making things up.

Which of the ten commandments relates to being gay?
Posted on 5/5/24 at 2:21 pm to Hawgnsincebirth55
I am a straight man, but don't believe beig gay is a sin. Nor is it a choice. I am religious and believe many in the history of the church have taken a few phrases in the Bible out of context. I read those phrases in the context of using sex, particularly gay sex, in a non-loving way and abusive way. There were many examples where men in power abused young boys and forced sex on them. All straight and gay people should think of abusive sex as not natural and speak out against it. This is the context that caused the men that wrote the Bible and the men that re-wrote the Bible lived in.
I find it interesting that many take these verses as a cornerstone of their belief. If you are one of those, then why do you not emphasize the many other verses that you do not follow? Who here would stone their daughter to death if she has sex outside of marriage? Are adulterers put to death? Do you ever work on the Sabbath? The list is extensive. These are not God's words, but were written by men and normally many years after the events or quotes from the original men that spoke them.
Please share any comments where Jesus spoke against gay sex. I don't believe he ever did.
Can any of you have an intelligent and fact based discussion on this? Let's see.

Just saw this. No one is responding because it’s a pointless question. You’re basically implying to throw away everything that isn’t red text in the Bible, which is heresy
