RT1941 is correct.
3down10 if anything smacks of ignorance it is your post. The coaches were never worth 10 million dollars a year, the main reason they got that money was to try to “recruit” the best players. There is very little difference between the coaching players are receiving at the top 40-50 CFB programs; the best players go where they have the best chance of getting to the NFL. Coaches like Saban and Smart did a great job of selling their programs as the best path to the NFL and were successful as a result of that.
Now college players are being treated more fairly in terms of their true market value to a college team. The programs that deal best with this reality will be successful. Programs that choose to stick their head in the sand and complain that players are selfish and entitled will likely not get very many good players on their teams. However, since I am an Auburn fan I hope you are able to convince Alabama to use your suggested approach.

Every team in the NFL knows that when you get an Alabama player they are better coached and ready to play at a higher level than the other schools.
A 5 star player who went to Alabama was more than twice as likely to get drafted in the 1st round than the next highest team.
Nothing more than the Dunning-Kruger effect going on here. You obviously haven't a clue as to what it takes to be a successful coach. Especially if you think the top30-40 coaches are all the same.
This is so dumb, I don't even know how to take you serious.
