Except they colonized those countries, stole their resources, tax them and set it back home, and created societies where they lived in lavish and made the locals live as second class in their own country.
So yea I would expect that shite not to work either

I call it soft Colonization you can’t just go in and occupy and take their stuff any more so instead. They try to change the laws, put in a western friendly government, push progressive laws, and then are confused when societies older than ours reject it and why it won’t work there. Some places need to be ruled with an iron fist because the culture it built up is too volatile
