Same exact thing happened to me and here is how it played out.
I submitted a claim in Feb 2023 for hail damage. Roofer got on my roof and circled a bunch of "hail damage." Third Party adjuster came out and my roofer guy did not. A week later, my claim was denied. I appealed and my claim was then denied again. I did not go the route of getting a public adjuster. I just thought I was going to have to come out of pocket for an entire roof because I needed one bad (25 year old roof).
Fast forward to early Feb 2024, and my next-door neighbor is getting a new roof, so I went over to ask him if insurance paid for it, and he said yes. I was blown away that his insurance approved him and mine was denied. Didnt make sense to me. So I used his company to try again. This time the roofer said I had a better shot at getting a full replacement from wind damage. I just told him to go for it. Roofer came out with third party adjuster and the next day I get a phone call saying my first check for $15,000 was on its way...
