graduate high school. Not college, high school. Lots of excellent opportunities out there that don’t require college. I don’t have a degree, and I’m retiring with no debt because I did both one, 2 and to follow…3.

This is where you are out of touch.

High school graduation rates are at 91% now. The bar has been raised. There are very few good opportunities for high school graduates now. Is trade school an opportunity? Yes, but that's not what you said.

If you do get a decent job with just a HS diploma you are going to find yourself being passed up on promotions by those with college degrees. You can't really swap jobs either, because with HR being mostly automated, resumes that don't include a degree will get sorted into the trash.

This is becoming less and less true as college degrees aren't as valued as they used to be, outside of specific industries.

I look for that trend to continue.

I didn’t say a trade wasn’t an option. I said there’s a tremendous amount of waste in college, and it’s impossible to argue otherwise.

As for a 91% graduation rate, how many times do we hear of schools graduating people who can’t do 8th grade math? The bar has definitely been lowered there.

I haven’t seen an HVAC tech get passed over yet. Seen what one of those makes?

I get you want the job you want. Life doesn’t necessarily say “great, no problem”.

Lemons, lemonade.
