Yikes. No need to go that far for a chicken. It’s not like her life was in danger.

I used to agree. We had a butthole bantam rooster that I let live because it was really cool when it was young. Once it hit puberty it was an arse but it was too small to really hurt us. It would come at my shins and I would just punt it. I figured it would die or stop coming at me. One day last year I was kneeling around next to my coop and he was able to take a shot at my head. It felt like a sledge hammer hit my head and he left several deep wounds in my scalp and forehead. Psychologically messed me up for the day as well. I damn foot tall chicken messed me up. Don’t underestimate an a-hole rooster, especially a full size one.
