Couple minutes bruh. Shells should separate quick. If your stove is electric, move them off that burner for the soak.

A couple of minutes is way too long unless you want rubbery shrimp.
The stalekracker method is surprisingly good.
But for an indoor boil it’s just as easy to get it to a rolling boil, cut the heat and put the shrimp in (don’t turn the heat back on). Let it sit for 30 seconds add cool tap water to cool it down further and then season and soak.
