Angles on replay are terrible and it was an awful throw but I thought maybe he could’ve come off and caught that ball.

It was such a bad throw...all he had to do was throw it on the other side of the base...bang bang game over. I do think that herring being left handed would have had a much more difficult chance to make the play.

A man with 20 ft arms would have had trouble catching that ball

That was runner interference plain and simple.
>45’ inside the line
And what’s not in the MLB or high school rule is the ball doesnt have to be catchable. He inferreed with Jones worrying about a collision which happened.
The runner interference was vs Jones and not Milazzo’s throw. Ole Miss CWS 2022 was a similar play.

at the people trying to put this on Jones. Milazzo threw a bullet from less than 60 feet away. There is no time to “come off” and catch it. Jones is a giant target and Alex missed it. I’m a huge Milazzo guy and was happy to see him in the lineup yesterday. He blew that play.

No Jones couldn’t have caught that ball without getting in the baseline of the runner. Milazzo made a terrible throw but Jones was lined up inside the bag like he was supposed to be on a play like that. I like Milazzo but he screwed that up and I’m sure he knows it.

The throw from less than 50 feet could be one of the worst throws ever,

Jones could have, but it would have put him in the runners path.

He did what he did instinctively, the throw was bad.

And yes, the runner could have been called for running inside the line.

The gigantic red circle is wide open. Instead Milazzo air mails it to the blue

100% could’ve caught the ball and kept his momentum going out of bounds. But Jones eased up. That was a tough play for milazzo to make
