You’ll need to fence them out. Nothing will repel them besides shooting them.
I have thin wire mesh fence that is only 20 inches high. I got the green coated one from Lowe’s and it blends in well with the woods. Small garden stakes holding it up. As long as the fence is flush with the ground, they won’t push it or root under it.
