For an 18 handicap, I’d doubt you’ll break 100 your first go around. You’re going to be more focused on the course/scenery.
It’s not a hard course, but it is hard to stay focused on your game there for your first round. Just take it all in and enjoy!

I was probably an 11when I played the 1st time and knew the course well
Did not break 100
Pebble has 6 of the top 10 smallest greens on the PGA tour. The poa annua has caddies that have been there fight over which way the ball will break
Broke 100 the 2nd time, but not by much
Took the 3rd time to reach my goal of breaking 90. Bogeyed 18 on a difficult windy day to shoot 89. 14 guys in our travel group. Some with a significantly lower hdcps that did not break 90
If u have time, play Pacific Grove. Back nine as scenic or more than Pebble. It’s public and one tenth the price. And go watch the bagpipe lady at Spanish Bay one evening

Don’t worry about your score - just enjoy it.
The tee shot on 1 will make you piss your pants. Tight little area with a decent amount of people/foot traffic and driver is too much club. I just took a hybrid and pounded it into the rough straight away (I knew it was too much club but was not chunking a 5 iron). The rough was thick too and that green is small.

You’re going play at pebble beach and this is what you’re asking about?

If there is not much wind, play correct tees and hire a caddy.....probably not 1st time.
I played in June shot 94 and came in playing well. Without a caddy I would have had no chance.
Agree with Wahoo on Pacific Grove. Actually played this past Friday. Unbelievable value, 77 only because I hit a ton of greens

As others have said, it's best to enjoy the walk and the experience and not focus too much on the golf. I've had the good fortune to play there several times and each day was great weather. My scores improved with each round, but it doesn't really matter, I'm grateful to have spent time in that beautiful place with friends and family. Enjoy your round and I hope you break 100!

I would be shocked if a 18 broke 100 at pebble on the first round

Same
There was a round I played where we were encouraged to improve our lies, which I could see that result.
I wanted my score to count, so I played it down anyway, and it ended up being my best there, 89. Have played it 4 times, including Spanish Bay, which I find more difficult.
The toughest part of Pebble is that the small greens have unchippable rough right up to the green. You are forced to pitch those shots like a sand shot. Of course 3 of my 4 rounds were the week prior to the Pro-Am

Yes I wonder if I will break 100 there too... I want to go play there one day.
My GHIN number is now 15 lol.
