A career criminal getting justice vs a preteen that was failed by everyone around him isn't a distinction some posters don't want to make itt. But hey we know why.

This baw is likely in a lot of trouble. In concealed carry classes, at least half of the course is devoted to telling you not to shoot someone under nearly all circumstances. They show a lot of videos of people who had their life ruined even when it was a legally justifiable shoot. Lost their job, tied up in court for years, civil judgements they would never be able to pay, many end up divorced from the stress. Basically, the litmus test should be that you aren’t walking out of that unless you pull the trigger, so you’ll have to deal with the likely consequences but it’s better than being dead. Unless your life is truly in danger, it’s far better to let a criminal walk with even a few thousand dollars worth of stuff.

Well, let’s say he's definitely rehabilitated. How do I know? He will never break into another vehicle………EVER!. or be a burden on society and/or the criminal justice system. Rehab successful and complete.

We don’t have details, so there could be some aggravating factors, but if you aren’t queasy over a 12 yr old being killed while engaged in petty theft, there’s something wrong with you.

My post really needs it's own thread.. But I will put it here.

I talked to my son... He lives in Memphis and he is White, Male and 40.

He says that Little 12 years olds are running amuck. all hours of the night and they all Packin' heat. Talkin' robbin' little old ladies and such.

Says that the county has no where to put them and the cops really don't care, because people that get put in jail for murder are released in some cases that very next day.

This is are the things that Democrats don't want to talk about because these little street thugs ain't white. But democrats want to blame white folk and guns.

But imho the problem is Culture. Raised on Rap, lack of parenting, God, education... Candice and Larry Elder are correct.

In fact, I don't believe that they have even arrested the shooters that killed two people in the mass shooting on 4-20.

12 year old doesn't understand the ramification of his actions, and unless he was armed, the shooter is in a lot of shite.

If I was the guy, I would be swearing on a stack of bibles that I saw one of them with a gun and fired in self-defense. Late at night, prove I didn't see a gun. If you had half a brain you'd advocate that the kid's deadbeat guardians faced criminal charges instead.

I'm not.

Its a lifestyle they choose. This 12 year old would have been in prison for most of his life if he had lived.

Unfortunately the shooter is likely pretty fricked
Don't know about Louisiana law but in Texas, that guy has the right to use deadly force to protect personal property from imminent loss or theft.

If the whole culture that perpetuates this doesn't make you nauseous, something's wrong with you.

remember in the musical "Oliver!" When the Artful Dodger tried to steal a baw's Mickey Mouse pocket watch at gunpoint and then got his head turned into a cavern?

There was a whole musical number.

Artful Dodger:
I've got a gun, it's time to steal,
Your watch please, I'll take from you,

Victim:
Not today, you little eel,
Now your head, is a canoe,
