I drove from Kentucky to Panama City beach yesterday and had to come through Alabama.
I’m not impressed with this state. Nothing to see. Why don’t they have a highway that takes you to the beaches? Had to drive country roads for 3 hours to get here.
Felt like all I saw was churches and cemeteries with cement slabs over every gravesite.
You guys need more exits for food too. Luckily there was a buc-ees.

Take the ferry to Fort Morgan. Halfway across Mobile Bay, tie a cinder block around your neck and jump overboard.

Panama City was nice like 35 years ago.

Was it though?

Panama City proper has always had an element that called it home...lots of people come to the panhandle on vacation and decide that drunk and stoned in Panama City beats the shite out of living in Cincinatti and never go home.

Panama City Beach is an entirely different group of assholes....

Wait until you get a load of Louisiana

This may suprise you, but every person I've talked to who takes site seeing trips like myself has commented that Louisiana is achingly beautiful.

Which it is.

Remove the blinders for a minute and you'd be surprised.

If we only included the foot of the boot louisiana is an economic powerhouse

Im joking... But that median number would be 30k higher.

While I don't disagree, i would also point out that if you only included the very north eastern part of Bama, that number would be significantly higher for Bama as well.

Was forced to make this same drive last summer and thought the same thing from Montgomery south. Then I hit the Florida panhandle, which basically resembles eastern Kentucky without mountains, and realized southern Alabama wasn’t so bad after all.

The Alabama interstate system sucks. Not one road is worth traveling on . I drive through GA into Florida and cross over when going to GulfShores

Maybe Alabama doesn't want you on its pretty beaches, Go hang out on Georgia's dirty sand Atlantic beaches.

I drove from Pensacola to the northeast side of lake martin on Saturday, and made a stop at some ball fields in Millbrook to see my niece play softball. I thought about how nice and pretty the countryside is on the drive from Millbrook to 280 in Alexander City. Different strokes I suppose.

I hunt northwest of enterprise in the middle of nothing and it’s far superior to my drive from Washington parish to Houma for work once a month. I hate to admit it because I hate those gump bastards but Alabama is much nicer than Louisiana.

Alabama is pretty sad in many ways

No professional sports
No international or even major regional airport
Poor educational system
High crime in bham
No respectable private or public college

Highlights-
Coastal area is nice from dauphin island through orange beach and mobile bay.
Huntsville has shown growth in space and tech

65 South to Montgomery, then you get on US Highway 231 and that takes you straight into PCB. It isn't interstate, but definitely not a country road. Now if you were an idiot and somehow took another road, that's on you.
