I also don’t think his goal is to produce a Heisman, it’s to produce a National Champion. Which I tend to agree with Dabo that it’s largely done through building your roster through high school recruits and not the portal.

Trevor Lawrence - Not a Transfer
Joe Burrow - Transfer
Mac Jones - Not a Transfer
Stetson Bennett - Not a Transfer

That’s 1/7 (Joe Burrow) since 2017. By the way, Cam Newton in 2010 is the only National Championship winning QB to be a transfer that I can think of off the top of my head.

Some of you are funny. Clemson doesn’t have UGA depth? What did UGA win last year? How about Bama? These southern schools got pushed around by freakin Michigan.
The portal is hurting these powerful southern schools where you have a top tier program every 200 miles. Kids can move around at will now. That’s why the hey day for a lot of teams are over. They can no longer hold onto their 4 star depth. Dabo will take portal guys no matter what he says. He just hasn’t so far. IPTAY has plenty of money to buy players and they will. That they’ve had a couple of single digit win seasons is no worry to Dabo.

And Jacob Coker in 2015 was a transfer.
Stetson Bennett was a two time transfer btw.
