Same trash. it's been pick and choose. What's good for some is not good for others.

I’m choosing not to make waves in my kid’s case. Watching them walk isn’t nearly as important to me as having them able to gtfo of the LP with a diploma in their hand. The problem is, none of us who were told our kids could graduate but not walk were given any written assurances. If they hand them their diploma the day after graduation like they (verbally) promised, i plan to just let it drop and be done. This Walker kid’s case isn’t the only one of its kind.

It’s insane to me that this is such a recurring problem there. It would happen twice tops here before there would be a reckoning. Voters had no issue refusing any education items in a ballot until a superintendent was replaced. Took 1 election

We literally had a cop jizzing in cupcake batter that his teacher wife then served to her students.

permission from the administration to wear his work shirt (a long sleeve welding shirt) to detention. He was told he could but when he showed up to detention, the teacher on duty said he wasn't wearing a school uniform and would be counted absent.
The kid couldn't just bring his school uniform to change into while walking in for detention??? I don't get why he couldn't plan on changing and prevent this whole mess

I wasn't much concerned with grades but was an A student at a very large high school my first three years. I had made a single B in biology as a freshman. Moved and as a senior attended a small high school, with a graduating class of only 46. Two otherwise goofy girls had 4.0 averages while taking Home Ec and easy classes, while I aced Chemistry and Physics and scored 9 points higher than the valedictorian on the ACT, taking it cold without any prep.. At graduation I was Master of Ceremonies and given a Presidential Scholarship to LSU. It was later revoked because I wasn't in the top 5% of my graduating class as required - by 12/1000th of a point.
Highly unfortunate that they don't take into account difficulty of curriculum. You got pushed back by cupcakes. That's jacked up.

What did he do to get detention?

Irrelevant. The kid showed up to detention and was sent home bc he was in work clothes instead of uniform. On a Saturday. And whatever he did likely wasn’t extreme enough to prevent graduation or they would have expelled him.
This kid met his academic requirements. Is it really worth it to prevent his graduation participation bc of not wearing a uniform on Saturday? In the scheme of things, is this more productive or counter-productive?

Walker is more Florida than Florida.

And LP still re-elected the sheriff who turned a blind eye to that cop, because, if you didn't write it down, it didn't happen.

fricking right. I would have been happy (que the "you can't walk anyway" jokes).
Actually you don't even need a diploma. I have friends who were a grade above me who did some stupid shite during the graduation ceremony. They blew bubbles and then danced on stage or some shite.. So the school held their diploma. Their college just needed their transcript. The HS sent them a letter informing them they could go get their diploma if they went there and apologized. One of them whose diploma was held went apologize because his parents wanted him to have his diploma. The other ones ignored the letter and graduated from college.
I really don't understand why the graduation ceremony is such a big deal. Its boring, there is usually a group of idiots in attendance who act like jackasses.. Once your grades are in, you have what you need.

Seems if the cutoff is 3.0 and not 3.00 then they would have rounded up. That's a chicken shite move on their part.
